LOTTO jackpot tonight is £10,950 and the draw will take place shortly after 9.30pm live on the club’s Facebook page. Tickets can be purchased online via Klubfunder or outlets including Brennan’s at Seaforde and Dundrum, O’Toole’s, Dundrum Inn, O’Hare’s Butchers and The Village Takeaway in Drumaness, Turley’s and The Arkle Bar, Downpatrick, plus the clubrooms. Last week’s numbers were 3, 10, 13 and 26. Jackpot not won. No one had three numbers and Marie Rogan was the Lucky Dip winner and won £25.

Registration day for the new season will be in the clubhouse on Sunday from 12pm-3pm. Further details about registration details will follow in due course. All senior and junior players must register by this date and need to complete hard copy forms. Online registration and payment will be available on the day. This will be a family fun day at the club and there will be club swap gear on the day. Bring some ‘old’ GAA gear and leave with something ‘new’.

Island Games’ second week has now completed in another impressive week from the participants. Stephen Tumelty was this week’s biggest weight losers and he lost an incredible 8lbs. This week’s total weight loss was 48lbs which has increased the gamers’ total weight loss at an incredible 14 stone and 4lbs in just three weeks. Sunday’s challenge was the School Sports Day challenges. VAR was called in to check a few photo finishes as the competition hots with a third of the Games almost complete. The Pink team remain in front on 96 points, closely followed by the Yellow team on 92 points, with the Green team just two point behind in third place.

Loughinisland GAC has signed up to this year’s GAA National Club Draw. The benefits for the club are fantastic. For example, if we sell over 200 tickets it will generate £20,000 from the sales which will go directly back to the club. Prizes include an all-new Renault Clio, Up to €7,000 in shopping vouchers, All-Ireland hurling and football finals packages (each to include two tickets to both showpiece events, overnight accommodation, plus dinner for two) or two tickets to a Croke Park concert. Tickets are £10 and can be purchased by contacting any committee members.

Loughinisland GAC is taking part in the GAA’s Ireland Lights Up initiative in partnership with RTE’s Operation Transformation and Get Ireland Walking. This week walkers will meet again at the Holy Family Church, Teconnaught, at 7pm. The walk should last around 45 minutes. Everyone welcome.

Irish classes will commence in the clubhouse beginning on Wednesday, February 5. Beginners’ class will commence at 6.30pm and post-beginners’ class will commence at 7.30pm. Loughinisland are entering an U14 girls’ team this year. Training starts on Saturday, February 1, at the Dan Rice Hall, Drumaness, from 10.30am-11.30am and will run for six weeks. All existing and new players very welcome. For further information contact Colm McAlarney or Alan Molloy.

Senior friends of Loughinisland are invited to a complimentary community get-together with a dinner and country music dance event in the GAA clubhouse on Sunday. Music will be by Eddie and Gerard Dornan. Doors open at 1pm, dinner served at 2pm with music and dancing until 5pm.
