LOTTO jackpot this week is £10,900 and the draw will take place shortly after 9.30pm live on the club’s Facebook page.
Tickets can be purchased online via Klubfunder or outlets including Brennan’s at Seaforde and Dundrum, O’Toole’s, Dundrum Inn, O’Hare’s Butchers and The Village Takeaway in Drumaness, The Arkle Bar, Downpatrick, plus the clubrooms.
Last week’s numbers were 2, 4, 12 and 14. Jackpot not won. Patricia Hughes, Brendan Kearney (two lines), Louise Kearney, Brian Rooney and Morgan Morrison shared the three-number £50 pot.
Island Games’ second week has now completed in another impressive week from the participants.
Sinéad Boyle, John Killen and and Pauline McVeigh were this week’s biggest weight losers as they each lost 4lbs. John won a random selection of healthy food and kindly shared these with the other biggest losers.
This week’s total weight loss was 63lbs which has increased the gamers’ total weight loss at an incredible 11 stone in just two weeks.
Sunday’s challenge was a fun adult-version of the Hungry Hippo game. The challenge was won by the Orange team with Grainne Fay coming in with the biggest collection and scooped 95 balls.
The Pink team remain in front on 65 points, closely followed by the Red team on 62 points, the Yellow team are on 59 points with the Green team just one point behind.
Loughinisland GAC has signed up to this year’s GAA National Club Draw. The benefits for the club are fantastic. For example, if we sell over 200 tickets it will generate £20,000 from the sales which will go directly back to the club.
Prizes include an all-new Renault Clio, Up to Ä7,000 in shopping vouchers, All-Ireland hurling and football finals packages (each to include two tickets to both showpiece events, overnight accommodation, plus dinner for two) or two tickets to a Croke Park concert.

Loughinisland GAC is taking part in the GAA’s Ireland Lights Up initiative in partnership with RTE’s Operation Transformation and Get Ireland Walking. The aim is to create a walking group every Thursday evening and is open to everyone from the club and community to get involved. This week walkers will meet again at the Holy Family Church, Teconnaught, at 7pm. The walk should last around 45 minutes. Everyone welcome.
Registration day for the new season will be in the clubhouse on Sunday, February 2, from 12pm-3pm. Further details about registration details will follow in due course.
Irish classes will commence in the clubhouse beginning on Wednesday, February 5. Beginners’ class will commence at 6.30pm and post-beginners’ class will commence at 7.30pm. Senior friends of Loughinisland are invited to a complimentary community get-together with a dinner and country music dance event in the GAA clubhouse on Sunday, February 2. Music will be by Eddie and Gerard Dornan. Doors open at 1pm, dinner served at 2pm with music and dancing until 5pm. Congratulations to neighbours Teconnaught on the opening on their new community hub on Saturday. GAA pundit Joe Brolly attended the opening of the new state-of-the-art facility.
