A SUPER Sunday for Loughinisland’s underage girls, with every girl playing football across three different age groups.
The U-8 girls played a friendly against Teconnaught, with a number of beginners making their Loughinisland debuts. Coaches Emma Gordon and Lorraine Colgan were delighted with their enthusiasm and effort, and all the girls enjoyed their time on the pitch.
The U-10 girls were also in action against Teconnaught, and they continue to show improvement every game and take on board the advice from their coaches Megan Ferris, Maeve McCaffrey and Alan Molloy. A great performance from a dedicated group of girls.
And for the first time in a number of years Loughinisland fielded an U-14 team – a proud moment for the club and coaches Colm McAlarney and Bronagh Mason.
With both U14s and a number of U12s included, they played their first League game of the season against Downpatrick B, a fantastic performance with great team play, securing an opening victory.
Well done to all!
