Health and Wellbeing Centre

The Loughinisland Community Health & Well-being Programme (HWBP) is a proactive programme set up for the local and wider community with the core aim to empower the community in addressing its own health & well-being needs.

The objective of the programme is to build on the developing community bond between young and old, improving community communication, providing more opportunities for social interaction and reducing social isolation through a range of classes in health/fitness, IT, mindfulness and communication.

Loughinisland Health and Wellbeing Centre (HBWC)

In January 2019 the Loughinisland Health and Wellbeing Centre (HBWC) was opened to the general public and today provides an enhanced community space, with weekly fitness and wellbeing classes including:

  • Spin Classes
  • Circuit Training
  • Pilates / Yoga
  • Running Club
  • High-Intensity Interval Training

The LHWC is open to members 6am – 11pm Daily For further information contact our Health & Well-being Officer Pat McGreevey or sign up here

Island Games

One of the most successful elements of the HWBP has been the extremely popular IslandGames which launches every January and runs for 10 weeks, energising the community and providing a great New Year platform to kick start both mentally and physically. Island Game teams are made up with a spread of age/gender/fitness levels and each year numbers continue to grow with wider outreach across the community.
